In response to Russia's anti-gay propoganda laws, and to coincide with the Sochi Winter Olympics, I developed a simple website that created an iconic visual protest by overlaying users photos with pink Olympic rings. Users were encouraged to upload their photos with the hashtag #Gayforcochi to their social pages to help us send a message of support to all LGBTQI Russians. Within 24 hours of the site going live over 30,000 people across the globe had uploaded photos. News sites picked up the story and it soon took on a life of it's own, becoming a popular trending topic. By the end of the olypmics #gayforsochi photos had been uploaded by more than 200,000 people, letting every LGBTQI kid in Russia know that they are not alone.
